American Infrastructure Financing Authority (a.k.a. Infrastructure Bank)

Earlier this week, Democrats John Kerry and Mark Warner joined Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison to propose the BUILD Act with the goal of boosting infrastructure investments across the nation.

The Building and Upgrading Infrastructure for Long-Term Development Act (BUILD Act) would establish an American Infrastructure Financing Authority (AIFA) – akin to an infrastructure bank.  Following an initial federal investment, AIFA would continue to build funds through private investments in order to provide loans and loan guarantees to finance infrastructure projects .  Read more about the key provisions of the BUILD Act here.
